Lula M. Davis

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Lula M. Davis, 83, of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.Lula passed away on October 4, 2015 at Heath Nursing Care Center. She was born in Baltimore, Ohio on July 5, 1932 to the late Lovell and Mary (Congrove) Rhodes.Prior to retirement, she worked as a porter for the 70/37 Truck Stop for many years. She was an avid animal lover, she enjoyed square dancing, listening to music and solving seek and find word puzzles.Survivors include her granddaughter and caregiver of 16 years, Jennifer Graham, whom she loved unconditionally; brother, Paul (Debbie) Rhodes; sisters, Misha (Kenny) Taylor, Shirley Pack and Rosemary Chadwell; former daughter-in-law, Alice Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Deak Davis in 1991; son, Ronald Grubb; and sister, Alice Bryerton.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lula to the Buckeye Lake Humane Society, PO Box 1502, Buckeye Lake, OH 43008 or to the Carol Strawn Center, 126 W.
