Lydia "Micki" Wareham

Lydia (Oxley) Wareham, known to her many friends as Micki, passed away on October 26, 2015. She was born on December 26, 1935, to the late Mark Perry Oxley, Sr. and Stella (Shumate) Oxley.A member of Newark High Schools class of 1953, Micki went on to graduate from Miami University. In the mid-1960s, she relocated to Long Island, New York, where she raised her family. She worked in advertising for many years and ultimately established her own agency, Oxley-Naylor Associates. She returned to Newark, a place she loved, in 2005.Micki is survived by her children, Mark Wareham and Nancy Wareham; her sister, Mary Virginia Faller; her nephews and their families; and many loyal friends in Ohio and New York.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Mark P. Oxley, Jr.; former husband, John M. Wareham, Jr.; and her longtime companion, Edwin R. Zolnier.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal shelter or humane society.Family will receive friends at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Micki and the Wareham family.
