A Home Going Service, to celebrate the life of Maggie Martha Glover, age 85, of Newark, will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington St., Newark, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Glover was born in Cherokee, Alabama on December 15, 1928 to the late Robert and Leona (Rutland) Thompson. She went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital.Mrs. Glover worked as a housekeeper and caterer for many years prior to retirement. She was an active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church; she volunteered for Twigs of Licking Memorial Hospital; member of the Nimble Thimble Club and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music and especially enjoyed spending time with family and hosting and cooking for family events. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed helping anyone in need.Survivors include her son, Robert Glover of Newark; daughter, Roberta Glover of Columbus; two grandchildren, Daja Glover and Brittany Watson; one great granddaughter, Amari Lucas; sister, Frances Holliday; nieces, Blanche Fowler and Djuana Fowler; nephew, Derrick Fowler; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Glover in 1996; daughter, Shelaine Watson; and brother, Robert Thompson.Friends may call at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and also on Friday at the church, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Glover family.
