Manzella June "Manzy" Thorpe

A funeral service for Manzella June “ Manzy” Thorpe will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at 11am, at the Hoskinson Funeral Home in Thornville. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street. Manzy, age, 81, of Thornville, died at her home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She was born September 4, 1938, in Wet Branch, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Owen and Myrtle (Thomas) Woods. She enjoyed TV shopping, especially watching QVC. Blessed with a large family, her heart was always with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, Dale (April) Thorpe, Dino Thorpe, Craig (Beth) Thorpe, Bart (Mary) Thorpe, Kevin (Shannon) Thorpe; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a special friend, Marlene Tucker. Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald Lee Thorpe on July 12, 2009; her son, Ronnie Lee Thorpe on November 7, 2015; her grandson Dale “DJ” Thorpe, Jr. on November 1, 2015 and an infant grandson, James Marshall Thorpe.
