Marcia A. Sims

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marcia Ann Sims, age 78, of Newark, will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home withDeacon Patrick Wilsonas celebrant. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, OH. Marcia passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her home in Newark with her loving companion of 18 years, George Collet, by her side. Marcia was born September 17, 1939in Aurora, Indiana to the late Charles and Rose (Fiorito) Harrison. After graduating from Mifflin High School, she worked for Discover Card in Columbus. Marcia was an avid tennis player and a fan of the New York Yankees. Marcia loved the sunshine and especially enjoyed spending the Springin Naples, Florida watching Spring Training and the spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved doting on them. Marcia was a loving companion, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by her companion of 18 years, George Collet; her children, Johnny Haist, Joshua (Kelly) Haist and Joseph (Danielle) Haist; Georges children, Cathie Collet, Christy (Dave) Annarino and Marty (Mark) Dodson; her grandchildren, Tabitha Haist, Jessica Moore, Bryan Haist, Anthony Haist, Brandon Haist, Savannah Haist, Ronin Haist, Kayden Haist and Lyrick Haist, as well as Georges grandchildren, Megan Dunfee, Richard Dunfee, Nicholas (Amanda) Dunfee, Michael Dunfee, Jennifer Dunfee, Zoe Annarino, Christian Annarino, Emily Dodson and Hunter Dodson. Special thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and Kim, Leah, Pam, Anita, Ashley, Sara and Miranda for the wonderful care they provided. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio or to the American Diabetes Association. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
