Margaret Bickie Walters, age 94, of Hebron, died peacefully on Saturday evening, September 20, 2014 in Newark. Born May 11, 1920, in Newark to the late George A. and Jessie (Cliver) Bickle. Her education began in a one-room school house near Gratiot, Ohio.Graduate of Hopewell H.S., Grant Hospital School of Nursing and the Ohio State University, College of Education. She was an active member of Hebron New Life U.M. Church, Grant Hospital Alumni Association, OSU Alumni Association, Hebron Lions Club, Hebron Historical Society, Newark Emmaus Community, a past matron of Eagon Chapter #123, Order of Eastern Star, Land of Legend Sweet Adelines and volunteered for Salvation Army and Hospice of Central Ohio.She practiced Nursing for 45 years, and was Director of Nursing after Licking Memorial Hospital was constructed. After twenty years in Nursing Administration, Margaret transferred to Grant Hospital School of Nursing where she found the joy of her life teaching fundamentals of nursing to new students. She retired from Grant in 1985.Survived by brother Robert (Joan) Bickle of Zanesville, sister-in-law Helen Bickle. Many nieces and nephews including Dr. Richard Walters, who was responsible for her care; 4 god-children Jeffrey Walters of London, Cindi (Nathan) Pitzer of Newark, Pam (Hartin) Driver of Kansas and Jack Hartin Jr. of California.Preceded in death by her parents, husband (of 50 years) Gail Walters, 5 sisters Alice, Mildred, Neva, Betty and Anna Mary, 2 brothers George Russell and Kenneth Bickle.Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 24th, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Hebron New Life Church, 925 West Main St., Hebron, with Funeral Services celebrating her life on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. The family will also receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Funeral on Thursday. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to Hebron New Life United Methodist Church, P.O.
