Margaret Irene Petty

A funeral service celebrating the life of Margaret Irene Petty, age 93, of Heath, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, at the Christian Apostolic Church, 22 North 23rd Street, Newark, with Rev. Keith Sjostrand officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Margaret was born September 15, 1922 in Newark, Ohio to the late Charles and Guisella (Fleischman) Ulrich. She passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).Margaret was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious homemade pizza. She also enjoyed singing and playing the vibraphone.She is survived by a daughter, Julie (Jeff) Van Dine of Heath; sons, Terry Petty (Mindy Fredeluces) of San Lorenzo, CA, James Petty of Heath and Charles (Becky) Petty of Groveport; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Ursula) Ulrich, Jr. of St. Louisville; and nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Petty in 2009; and by two sisters, Elsie Ulrich and Rose Ulrich.Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Apostolic Church or to the Selma Markowitz Care Center c/o the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Margaret and her family.
