Margaret Lucretia "Maggie" Lewis

Margaret Lucretia “Maggie” Lewis, age 76, of Newark, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2018 with her family by her side. Maggie was born August 6, 1942 in Marysville, Ohio to the late Frederick and Martha Jane (McCann) Bretz.

May her journey continue through the universe. May her wisdom, drive and confidence live on in all of us. As Sinatra said, "I did it my way". That is how she it. God bless her for that. We know she is somewhere sitting at a table with a half-eaten piece of dark chocolate, slowly smoking a skinny cigarette, reading, enjoying a hot beverage and having the time of her life. How peaceful.

She is survived by her husband, Doug; children, John and Kathy Aksterowicz of Lancaster, Mark and Sandy Aksterowicz of Dover, Beau and Shawna Bromberg, David Armstrong, Aleks and Michelle Armstrong, Amber Armstrong, Ashleigh Armstrong and Bethany Armstrong, all of Newark, Samantha Pandy of Zanesville and Salina Wenzel of Columbus; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Bretz, Barbara Jean “B.J.” Schirtzinger, Laura and Russ Perkey, Fred and Yvonne Bretz and Walter and Kitty Bretz; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ann Bretz, and a grandchild.

The family will hold a private memorial gathering.
