Margaret E. Morgan

A funeral service celebrating the life of Margaret E. Morgan, age 82, of Somerset, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 27, at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Victoria Burgoon officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.

Margaret was born February 15, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Earl and Sylvia (Root) Kaiser. She passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Pickering House in Lancaster.

Margaret was employed with Glasflos in Millersport and Lancaster. A member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles #2801, Margaret was a “Golden Eagle” and was past Madam President and held many other offices within the organization. She also tended bar at the Eagles for many years. Margaret enjoyed bowling and ceramics.

She is survived by two sons, John T. (Debbie) Morgan, Jr. of Millersport and David (Valerie) Morgan of Buckeye Lake; daughter, Mary (John) Dalton of Thornville; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Alwood of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Thomas “Tom” Morgan, Sr., whom she married July 23, 1961 and who passed away on May 6, 2023; and by three brothers, Charles, Earl, and Robert Kaiser; and her twin sister who died when she was four months old.
