Marian M. Moore

March 2, 1932 — April 12, 2018

Marian May Stackhouse Moore was born on March 3, 1932 and born to her eternal life on April 12, 2018. She was the daughter of Wiley Otis and Alice Naomi Stackhouse, who preceded her in death. Four brothers, William, John, James, and Richard also preceded her in death. Marian was a 1950 graduate of Lash High School in Zanesville. She married the love of her life, Walter Keith Moore on October 19, 1952 and he survives. Marian is survived by son, Dennis Keith Moore (Katherine) of Grove City, Ohio and by daughter, Rev Debra May Moore-Hardin (Steven) of Terre Haute, Indiana. She also is survived by grandchildren Andrew (Erin) Moore, Angela Moore, Jason (Heather) Moore, Jaycob Moore, step-granddaughter Lynne McCown; and great grandchildren Hailey Moore and Allyson Moore. Other survivors are sisters-in-law Charlotte Moore, Carmen Stackhouse, and Jane Lingle along with several nieces and nephews. Marian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived a life of service to her family and Jacksontown United Methodist Church, where she was a member and a pianist for twenty years. Marian has been a Sunday school teacher, VBS teacher, scout leader, and kindergarten teaching assistant at Jacksontown Elementary School. She touched the lives of many children, several who called her Mamaw. She was an avid reader and crossword whiz; she knitted and crocheted many gifts for others Visitation will be Monday, April 16 from 12 noon to 2 pm with service to follow at 2 pm at Jacksontown United Methodist Church. Pastor Bob Beyer will officiate. The family wishes to thank the staff of Chapel Grove Inn and Hospice of Central Ohio as well as staff on Licking Memorial Hospitals Five South for the wonderful care they provided to Marian. A special thank you to Dr. Jeremy Campbell for his compassionate, competent, loving care of Marian just as she cared for you in Sunday school.
