Marie Eileen Murrey

A funeral service celebrating the life of Marie Eileen Murrey, age 90, a resident of Buckeye Lake for 59 years, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Marie was born September 28, 1928 in Noble County, Ohio to the late Vernon and Ida (Minks) Boney. She passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Laurels of Heath.

Marie was a 1946 graduate of Dexter City High school in Noble County, Ohio where she was a straight-A student and played the clarinet in the band. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and loved to write letters. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Diamond of Rushville; sons, Steve (Trudy) Murrey of Heath and Kevin (Sylvia) Murrey of Glenford; grandchildren, Joe, Nick, Sean, Kyle, Emily and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Carson and Christopher; a brother, Irving (Connie) Boney of Masillon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles W. Murrey, whom she married June 21, 1946 and who passed away on May 22, 1991.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
