Marilyn Bash Alspach peacefully left this earth on September 20, 2024 at 10:45pm at the FairHope Pickering House. At the great age of 93 years, she was blessed with an amazing mind and a strong sense of independence. Marilyn was born on December 5, 1930 and treasured her childhood memories created in White Cottage with family. On October 6, 1948, she married Charles Richard Alspach and they began their life together in Thornville, Ohio. Their years were spent operating a jersey dairy farm and raising their three girls. She was an active member of Madonna CCL, Perry County-OSU Extension, Ladies Auxiliary of the Edgar A. Orr American Legion Post 342, Trinity United Church of Christ, and Trinity UCC Women’s Guild. She looked forward to her annual duties as an election worker for Thorn Township. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards, going on fun day excursions, and catching up with everyone she knew. Marilyn leaves behind those who loved her most which include her girls, Linda (Mike) Alvis, Carol Alspach-Morris (Chris Morris), Lisa (Doug) Boysel; grandchildren Michelle Wright (Bryan Reber), Barton (Jennifer) Alvis, Lacey (Brian) Carle, and Lukas (Kellie) Harlan; great-grandchildren Mackenzie (Jerrod) Abel, Logan (Emily) Talbot, Langdon Johnson, Breanna Reber, Delaney Alvis, Gavin Carle, Brade Wright, Waylon and Wyatt Harlan; great, great grandchildren Niles and Nyla Abel, Oakley and Connor Talbot; three step-grandchildren Justin (Ali) Boysel, Brandon (Megan) Boysel, Shannon (Devin) Maciel and families; nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She joins those who passed before her which include her husband; parents Ester and Erma (Reed) Bash; sister Barbara (Richard) Packer; and many other family members and beloved friends. Those wishing to visit may do so from 5-7 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 56 South Main Street, Thornville, Ohio 43076 where a funeral service will begin at 7 PM Tuesday with Pastor Melodie Rezac officiating. A graveside service will be provided on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11am at the Lutheran Reform Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ .
