Marilyn D. Smith

A graveside funeral service for Marilyn D. Smith, age 69, of Newark will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Smith Chapel Cemetery, with Pastor Marvin Carver, Pastor Kelly Carver and Pastor Charles Montgomery officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 5th, prior to the graveside service, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark. Marilyn was born in Lucasville, Ohio on August 6, 1947 to the late Mose Vic and Etta (Jenkins) Montgomery. She passed away on March 31, 2017 at Arlington Care Center. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Big Run Baptist Church in Lucasville. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband, Stewart C. Smith, whom she married November 11, 1972; two sons, Christopher (Trina) Smith and Stewart M. (Aly) Smith; grandchildren, Israel (Charity) Smith, Zachary Smith and Bailey Smith; sister, Loretta Helton; aunt, Ann Ewing; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Montgomery.
