Marilyn J. Dickerson, 82 of Newark, passed away on April 11, 2023 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 3, 1940 to the late William Boder and Louise (Reeb) Warthen. Marilyn worked at Dayton Precision and Walker Manufacturing for many years. She then went to Columbus State Community College, graduating cum laude, with a degree in Culinary Arts. She was a chef for The Place Off the Square, Cherry Valley Lodge and The Inn at Chapel Grove. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, playing POGO and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most important was the time she spent with her loving family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Bryan) Smith; grandchildren, Toshia (J.R.) Hammond, Veronica (Chase) Gilroy and Brittney (Roman) Atwood; brothers, Dick (Sherry) Boder, Tom (Ruthie) Boder and Gary (Kathy) Warthen; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Braulio “Niki” Jimenez. A Celebration of Life for Marilyn will be held at Kathy's house on Saturday, July 1st at 5:00 p.m. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Marilyn and her family.
