A memorial service celebrating the life of Marilyn J. “Lyn” McKenna, age 87, of Granville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 107 East Broadway in Granville with the Reverend Doris Westfall officiating.
Lyn was born July 7, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Wayne and Alberta Ruth (Trimble) Hardy. She passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).
Lyn received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Denison University and was an artist for much of her life. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Granville. Lyn enjoyed needlework and participated in making needlepoint kneelers for the church.
She is survived by four sons, Robert (Debbie) McKenna, Alan (Debi) McKenna, David (Jan) McKenna and Evan (Bonnie) McKenna; daughter-in-law, Carol McKenna; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Jackie Bertsch; sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Dotsie” Kehoe and Eleanor “Ellie” White; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Raymond A. McKenna, whom she married November 10, 1952 and who passed away on September 27, 2017; a son, Geoffrey; a granddaughter; and an infant brother, Wayne Hardy.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
