A graveside service celebrating the life of Marilyn Rose (Ruppersburg) Bowers, age 84, of Millersport, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 351 Coonpath Road NE, Lancaster, with Richard Hoskinson as Celebrant. Prior to the graveside service, friends may call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Marilyn was born April 8, 1933 in Clintonville, Ohio to the late Homer Delno and Mary Evelyn (Rehl) Ruppersburg. She passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of Millersport High School. She and her husband lived in Millersport where they raised their family. Marilyn retired from Walnut Township and Pickerington Schools where she had worked in the cafeteria and as a custodian. Marilyn was a strong, independent woman who cherished her family, friends and neighbors. She was a very accomplished gardener and quilter and was known to always have a smile on her face and had a wonderful spirit. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Bob (Jackie) Bowers, Sherry (Bob) Farrow and Kimberly Steinwender; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Paul Bowers, who died on July 2, 1987. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
