Marjorie Carole Rainer

Marjorie Carole (Evans) Rainer, age 83, of Zanesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Adams Lane Care Center. Carole was born December 23, 1938 in Celina, Ohio to the late Robert and Elsie (Shupp) Evans.

Carole retired after 40 plus years as State Director with the National Child Safety Council. She was a member of the Ohio Police Chief’s Association and the Buckeye State Sherriff’s Association. Carole loved to paint and do crafts, work puzzles, and flower gardening.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill (Susie) Maize of Bluffton and Mark (Peggy) Maize of Mount Perry; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Bacher of North Carolina and Janet Huntsberger of Logan; a brother, Jim Evans of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Darrell G. Rainer, who died in 2012; and by a daughter, Mary “Michelle” Allendar; a son, David Maize; and two grandchildren, Brian and Tara Russell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215.

The family will observe a private family gathering.
