A funeral service for Mark Edward Anctil, age 66, of Heath, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 North Fifth Street, Newark, with Rev. Martin Gehring and Rev. Matthew Van Winkle officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow the service. Mark will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery later in the day where a graveside service will take place at 2 p.m.
Mark was born April 6, 1958 in Taunton, Massachusetts to the late Joseph E. and Meredyth L. (O’Connor) Anctil. He passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
Throughout his career, Mark excelled as a Regional Manager in software sales for various companies in Boston, Massachusetts. His professional aptitude was matched by his entrepreneurial spirit, as he was also a successful property investor and landlord in the Newark area and thoroughly enjoyed managing his properties.
Mark was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark and found joy in attending services at Johnstown United Methodist Church. A man of diverse interests, Mark enjoyed tinkering with old cars and computers, activities that showcased his love for challenges and learning. He was fond of traveling and found tranquility while boating on his pontoon. Dining out was a favorite pastime, providing opportunities to connect with family and friends. Mark was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and NASCAR, passions that brought him joy and camaraderie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Anctil; children, Andrew (Veronika) DeBacco, Julie (Mark) Ferguson, Benjamin (Natalie) DeBacco, Matthew Anctil, and Ryan Anctil; grandchildren, Charlotte, Olivia, and Eleanor; and his beloved dogs, Teddy, Jingles, and Ollie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Anctil.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, OH 43056.
