Mark L. Rodman

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mark L. Rodman, age 54, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, Newark, Ohio. Private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mark was born in Galion, Ohio on March 19, 1963 to the late Donald and Velma (Bennett) Rodman. He passed away on May 22, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark. Mark was a spiritual person, performing many weddings and funerals over the years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, had an uplifting personality, was selfless and always took care of others in need. Mark was the patriarch of the family and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include a daughter, Shelly Renee Rodman; son, Thomas James Rodman; sister, Ginny (George Harris) Rodman; brothers, Dale (Peggy) Rodman and Jeffrey Bennett; significant other, Carl Rardon; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Merle Rodman and Howard Bennett. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mark to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
