Mark Allen Shoenfelt, passed away peacefully at his residence in Newark on April 2, 2025, at the age of 64. He was born on December 5, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Terre L. (Rian) Shoenfelt, whom he married on September 12, 1980. He was a devoted father to his son, Chad R. (Samantha Cormican) Shoenfelt, and his daughter, Lindsay M. Lee and her husband Eric. Mark was the proud grandfather of Jameson Shoenfelt, Carter Lee, and Corbin Lee, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

He also leaves behind his brother Aaron Shoenfelt and his partner Tess Elder, as well as his mother-in-law, Barbara Rian. Mark also leaves behind his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Linda Shoenfelt, and his father-in-law, Richard Rian.

Mark graduated from Heath High School and LCJVS (C-TEC) Class of 1979. A dedicated machine operator, his passion for the great outdoors was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was an member of the Buckeye Big Buck Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and assembling 3D models. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mark’s legacy will live on in the countless memories he created with his loved ones and the impact he had on all who knew him. His humor, love and loyalty will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an organization of your choosing that supports wildlife conservation or outdoor activities, reflecting Mark’s passion for nature.

A celebration of life service for Mark will be held at a later date.
