Mark Lawrence Strohl

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mark Lawrence Strohl, age 56, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Mark was born May 30, 1962 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Mark was a 1981 graduate of Lakewood High School and was employed for many years as a cook at the Olive Garden. Mark enjoyed golfing with his friend George Roskwitalski and was an avid football fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his mother, Nina Lee (Shackle) Strohl; brothers, Jeff Strohl of Thornville and Richard (Dianna) Strohl of Newark; sister, Debbie (Larry) Meade of Newark; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Jeremy) Scott, Melinda (Greg) Brown, Kelly Church (Roy Howell), Brianna, Sevannah and Matthew Strohl.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Henry Strohl; a brother, Gary Strohl; and a nephew, Richard John “R.J.” Gleckler.
