Marlene Lou Allen

Marlene Lou Allen, age 81, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at her home. Marlene was born October 10, 1939 in Santoy, Ohio to the late Bernard Greuey and the late Ruby (Kronenbitter) Greuey Omen.

Marlene was a graduate of McLuney High School. She was the head housekeeper at the Sheridan Inn for many years and retired from Meijer. Marlene enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and cooking, and was especially known for her sugar cookies, pies and homemade noodles.

Marlene is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Mark) Lust of Newark; sons, Terry Allen and Mike (Christina) Allen, all of Newark; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Allen, Tyler Allen, Nicole (Mike) Black, Christopher Allen, Katie (Patrick) Hofer, Sara Allen, Madie Allen, Brandi (Jamey) Fauque, Jennifer (Mitchell) Kemper and Robert Lust; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Ann) Greuey of Florida; sisters, Ruth Ann (Bob) Watts of Crooksville, Linda Swinehart of Thornville and Sandy (Jim) Henery of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Wanda Greuey; nephew, Butch Greuey; and brother-in-law, Dwayne Swinehart.

The family will observe a private graveside service at Zion Cemetery in Crooksville.
