Marlene Eva Taborn

A Celebration of Life service for Marlene E. Taborn, 42 of Columbus, will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at Criss Wagner Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Keith Wyatt, Sr. officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, June 22nd, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Marlene was born in Newark, Ohio on June 22, 1980 to the late Vernon Johnson Sr. and Cloey Taborn.  She passed away at Mt. Carmel West on June 9, 2023.

Marlene was a devoted homemaker to her family.  She enjoyed coloring, traveling, fishing, making collages, but most important was the time she spent with her loving family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Arvella M. Taborn, Aveontae S. Taborn and Alena S. Taborn; granddaughter, Azonnia M. Mitchell; brothers and sisters, Rev. Keith (Dorothy) Wyatt Sr., David (Theresa) Cox, LaDonna Nelms, Tyler Bryant, Vernon Johnson, Jr., Jay Johnson, and Lola Taborn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nicole Johnson; and nephew, Byron Morris II.
