Martha A. Pelfrey

A funeral service celebrating the life of Martha Ann Nichols-Pelfrey, 70 of Newark, will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Beau Bromberg officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Sunday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Martha Ann Nichols-Pelfrey was born October 27, 1954 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late James Franklin Nichols and Audrey Gipson Nichols Pegan. She passed away on November 7, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, with her family by her side. She was a member of Newark Eagles #387. She loved Kentucky Wildcats and The Ohio State Buckeyes football. She loved country music, playing pool, gambling, her family, her friends and shopping on the Moore For Less Wall. She lost her husband in June 2024 after 33 years, Emmett Wayne Pelfrey. She will be missed by her dog Mighty Mouse. Her daughter(s) Stella Pegan (William Lockhart), Audrey (Richard) French, Missy Daniels, Tina Nichols. Her son(s) David Joseph, Robert (Heather) Campbell, Dewey Nichols (Jennifer Helms). Sisters Lori (Lewis) Allen, and Linda Matthews. Brothers Sonny (Virginia) Nichols and James Nichols. Survived by her grandkids, Candi Pegan-Crawmer, Hershel Pegan (Amber Shields), Takela (Koty) Frazier, Tristan Lockhart, Cale Lockhart, Samuel Lowery (Blake Holdsworth), Dakota Lowery, Gavin (Cierra) Sutton, Zachary Daniels, William Lockhart Jr, Danaya Joseph, Cheyenne Lockhart (Pat Shepherd), David Joseph Jr, Zachariah Lowery, Kylee Gutridge, Michael Thomas, Erik Daniels, Aydin French, Isabella Campbell, Zoie French, Gabriella Campbell, Xavier Campbell, Lorenzo Campbell, Aria Campbell, Zeke Campbell, Becca Campbell, Savannah Campbell, Robert Campbell Jr, Charlie Mitchell, Devin Shough, Virgie Mitchell, and Beckham Nichols. Survived by her Great grandkids, Faith Westbrook , Norah Pegan, Briley Pegan, Joseph Pegan, Mariana Pegan, Ella Baker, Kalvin Frazier, Aubriella Lowery, Rebekah Jane, Benjamin Sutton, Kota Daniels, Aubri Dunlap, Emmitt Sutton and MaryAnn Ellison Lockhart-Shepherd Proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ida and Elliott Gipson; paternal grandparents. Minnie and Sugar Grant Nichols; brothers, Albert Nichols, Bucky Nichols, Theodore Nichols; sisters, Bonnie Nichols, Pauline Tolle, Robin Gregg, and Virgie Nichols; son, James Robert Pegan and daughter Minnie Elizabeth Pegan; grandsons, Ronnie Mitchell and Jonathon Alexander Campbell; granddaughter, Natoshia Shyann Marie Pegan; and great granddaughter, Lillian Annajean Sutton.
