Martin J. "Mark" Lake

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Martin Jay Mark Lake, Sr., age 79, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.Mark was born in Newark, Ohio on March 28, 1936 to the late Joseph Frederick and Nellie (Johnson) Lake. He passed away on February 17, 2016.Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 284. He enjoyed squirrel fishing, sitting on his front porch and spending time with his loving family.Survivors include his four children, Joseph Lake, Martin Lake Jr., Scott (Angela) Lake and Stacy A. Lake; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Blanche (Messina) Lake; special friend, Phyllis Appleman; brothers and sisters, William Lake Sr., John Lake, Doris White, Kenny Lake, Eileen Redman and Bernice Lake.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mark to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
