Marvin Dale Fleshman, age 89, of Johnstown, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at his home. He was born August 22, 1933 in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Irvin D. and Lillie Mae (Bailey) Fleshman.
Marvin was a 1951 graduate of Johnstown-Monroe High School. A veteran of the United States Army, he faithfully served his country during the Korean War. A printer by trade, Marvin retired from West-Camp Press in Columbus where he had been employed for 44 years. Marvin was a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church, the Johnstown American Legion Post #254, and PICO (Printing Industries of Central Ohio). He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Jean (Teeters) Fleshman, whom he married August 11, 1957; three children, Kevin Dale Fleshman of Johnstown, Kris Allen Fleshman of Johnstown, and Kerry Leeann (Stuart) Moats of Alexandria; grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Fleshman, Korey (Angela) Fleshman, Sarah (Jonathan) Priest, and Rachel Moats; six great-grandchildren, Jaderian Hallam, Brendon (Hailey) Hallam, William Fleshman, Hayden Fleshman, Logan Fleshman, and Jocelynn Priest; three great-great-grandchildren, Sophia, Emilia, and Alora; brother, Kelly J. Fleshman of Johnstown; sister, Janet Sharp of Marion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Robin Marie Fleshman; a granddaughter, Kirsten Elizabeth Fleshman; and three brothers, Larry Jim Fleshman, Johnny Fleshman, and Danny Fleshman.
A memorial service honoring Marvin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4th, at the Johnstown United Methodist Church, 159 South Main Street in Johnstown with Rev. Matthew Van Winkle officiating. Inurnment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
