Mary Alice Foster, 79, of Thornville, died Friday May 4, 2012 at Hocking Community Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born March 6, 1933, in Newark, the daughter of the late Warren and Helen (Sheppard) Swartz. She was a 1952 graduate of Newark High School. A Homemaker, Mary Alice was an active member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles Auxillary #2801.She is survived by her husband, Herman Foster, sons Kip (Amber) Foster of Union Furnace, Don (Kathy ) Ward of Indiana; grandsons Brandon, Jonathan and Thomas Ward of Boston, Ma., Kyle & Lexie Foster of Millersport, and Blake, Dalton, and Annamary Foster of Union Furnace.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Friends may call at the Thornville home of The Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 from 1-3 P.M.; where Eagles Auxillary Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. and funeral services celebrating her life to follow.
