Mary Ellen Zimmerman

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mary Ellen Zimmerman, 82, of Thornville, will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Thornville home of Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main St., with Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating.Mary passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at her home. She was born on September 3, 1930 in Marion, Ohio to the late Ray and Mary Ann (Moffett) Yost. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, traveling, and cooking. She was very active in her Florida community, Cyprus Bend, entertaining and preparing meals for over 400 people. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes (hating to lose, of course) but most of all, spending time with her family.She is survived by her family whom she loved passionately: Husband, Daniel; children: Daniel Timothy (Loretta) Zimmerman, Cecelia (Wayne) Smith and Cynthia (William) Saum; eight grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) and Jenna Zimmerman; Samantha (Peter) Morse, Kent (Julie) Smith, Joshua (Mary) Shearer, Lindsey McCullough, Amber (Dan) Wamer, and April (Bret) Ginn; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as three nieces and seven nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Eleanor Clark, Dorothy Burke, and Pauline Burns and one brother, Charles Yost.The family will receive friends at the Thornville Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and Home Instead of Fairfield County for the loving care they provided to Mary.Memorial contributions may be made to Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.Online condolences may be sent to www.hoskinsonfuneral.comHoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, Thornville, is honored to care for the Zimmerman Family.
