Mary Cox-Gesiorski

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary Cox-Gesiorski, age 78, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 18, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Mary was born June 29, 1945 and was the cherished daughter of the late William Everett Cox and the late Anna Elizabeth Cox. Mary passed away in the morning of March 7, 2024.

Mary was the loving wife of Alex Gesiorski; devoted mother of Brian Gesiorski and David Gesiorski and mother-in-law of Tiffany Oleksijew-Gesiorski; dear grandmother of Robert James Kojder, Matthew Gesiorski, Brittany (Stefan) Brunecher and Alyssa Gesiorski; dearest great-grandmother of Katherina and Felix Brunecher; beloved sister to William H. (June) Cox, Virginia (Ora) Wickliff, Hilda Cox, John Cox, Judy Allen, Linda (Leroy) White, Betty Blackford, and Mark (Mary) Cox. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was the beloved sister of and preceded in death by her siblings, David (Sandy) Cox, Anna (Randy) Shepard, Everett Cox, and Patricia Cox.

Mary was a kind, loving, and selfless person who especially loved her grandchildren and watching videos sent to her of her great-grandchildren. She was a Godly person who always tried to do the right thing no matter what the situation and gave everyone the benefit of doubt. She also had endless love for all her pets who will miss her lap petting sessions. She also liked to read and watch History Channel shows but especially liked watching NCIS. She loved making beautiful things from crochet and beadwork.

Mary had touched everyone’s life in some way just by being herself. She will be missed by all.
