Mary Helser

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mary E. Lyle Helser, 87, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, in The Thornville Home of The Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Helser as celebrant.Burial will follow at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery. Mary died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, peacefully, at her home following a brief illness. She was born in Thornville on May 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ocie (Franks) Lyle. She worked for many years at the phone company in Greenville and as the secretary at Lancaster Sales. An active member of the Thornville Community, Mary was a member of the Olivet Church of the Brethren and Ladies Aid, Treasurer of Olivet Brethren Cemetery, Perry County Homemakers and had volunteered at the local food pantry. She also worked at the Glenford Lions Steam Show. Mary enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafting, quilting and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her sons David (Manetha) Lyle of Thornville, Marvin Leeper of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Lois Ann Lyle, two step-sons and many step-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Percy Leeper and Harold Helser; brothers Delbert and Charles L Lyle; and one step-daughter.The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Thornville Funeral Home, 56 S Main St in Thornville.Memorials in Marys memory may be directed to Olivet Church of the Brethren or the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, 109 N Broad St, Suite #304, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.Online condolences may be sent to www.hoskinsonfuneral.comHoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation, Thornville, is honored to care for the Helser Family.
