Mary Jane Vest

Mary Jane Vest, age 61, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Mary Jane was born July 4, 1956 in Newark, Ohio to the late Walter Glenn and Lena Mae (Pettibone) Webb. She had been a nurses aide at Newark Healthcare Centre and Cedar Hill and Sunny View in Zanesville. Mary Jane was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and enjoyed listening to music and talking on the phone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Tessa Webb (fianc Ronald Steward) and Kayla (Eddie) Painter, all of Newark; grandchildren, Storm Webb and Emily Miller; sisters, Shirley (David) Rose of Newark, Mary Lou Davis of Texas, Mona Belle Slageo of Newark, Celena Crothers of Zanesville and Doris Halblaub of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Canter ; and a brother, Earl Crothers. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
