Mary Jean Cayton

Mary Jean Cayton, age 74, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Mary was born January 13, 1944 to the late Louis Edwin Wallace and Violet Blanche (Donaldson) Wallace Grandstaff. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, needlework and playing Yahtzee, Uno and many other games. She attended the Church Without Walls in Newark. She is survived by her husband of ten years, George E. Cayton, whom she married January 13, 2008; daughter, Elizabeth Shaw (Michael Crozier), sons, Paul Cayton and George Cayton, Jr. and daughter, Susan Piper (Bo Howard); eight grandchildren; brother, Glenn Wallace; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen, George and JoAnn; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. A graveside inurnment service will take place at a later date.
