Mary K. Stevens

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary K. Stevens, age 89, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sowards officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.Mary was born in Barnesville, Ohio on July 28, 1925 to the late Hilliard Carpenter and Angela (Burr) Carpenter Hupp. She passed away at her residence on Sunday,January 18, 2015.Mary was devoted to serving the Lord, was dedicated and passionate about praying for her family and friends. She attended Toboso Nazarene Church and Community Wesleyan Church. She was a devoted homemaker, enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved spending time with herchildren and grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Ronald (Patricia) Stevens of Heath, Roger (Florence) Stevens of Newark, Gregory Stevens of Pataskala and Angela (Cloyd) Mohler of Newark; brothers, George (Shirley) Hupp and Kenny Hupp; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Kayla.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Meredith L. Stevens in 1985; son, Meredith Dwain Stevens; daughter, Donna Andrews; grandson, Matthew Andrews; granddaughter, Sherry Halbedel; brother, Lawrence Carpenter; and sister, Marjorie Rinker.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
