A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mary Louise (Durban) Conn, 82, formerly of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, with Pastor Beth Bateson as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.May Louise was born near Hilliard on August 17, 1933, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Mary Ann (Hamilton) Durban. She attended Hilliard High School, graduated from Pleasantville High School, and worked at Essex Wire in Lancaster prior to her marriage. She moved to Thornville to farm with her husband John, and she worked for the Newark Air Force Base for 23 years. She was organist at the Grace Lutheran Church for over 50 years, also substituting organist at Trinity Church of Christ in Thornville and Hosanna Lutheran Church in Pataskala. She was the chapel organist for the Boring-Sheridan Funeral homes in Thornville, Bremen, Baltimore and Hebron, where she played for many funerals. In recent years, she played for the hymn sings at Chapel Grove.She was the founder of The Men of Grace at Thornville.She was preceded in death by her husband John, her Parents and her brother Marvin Durban.Mary Louise is survived by her son David (Debbie) Conn of Thornville, grandson David (Charity) Conn of Thornville, great-grandchildren Johnathan and Kaitlyn Conn, brother Lowell Durban of Columbus; 1 niece and 4 nephews.Friends may call on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S.
