Mary Marie Mayes

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary Marie Mayes, age 75, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Clifford Mason as celebrant. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 14, at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.

Mary was born April 25, 1943 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Herbert Glenn and Helen Esther (Weiland) Treadway. She passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville.

Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, coloring and doting on her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard L. Mayes, whom she married December 6, 1959; and by three children, Debbie (John) Fournier of Hebron, Laurie (Larry) Green of Columbus and Robert (Christina) Mayes of Pataskala; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Fournier, Anthony Colangelo, Carissa Colangelo and Daniel Mayes.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Don, Juanita, Pete, Jack, Bill and Roger.
