Mary Elizabeth Mcguire

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of our beloved Mary E. (Bush) McGuire, of Pataskala Ohio, who passed away suddenly at the age of 71, on October 12, 2021.

Mary lived life devoted to her husband of nearly 45 years James McGuire; her children Michael (Jaclyn) McGuire, and Brian (Sarah) McGuire; and her grandchildren: Aiden, Mary Ella, Brigid and Matthew McGuire.

Mary is also survived by her brothers: Jim (Juanita) Bush, George (Virginia) Bush, John (Patricia) Bush, and Bill (Penny) Bush. Known affectionately as Uncle Mary, she will be missed by her nieces and nephews and their families.

You could often find Mary volunteering for the SWL Youth Football and Cheer League or attending as a fan of her grandchildren in various sports. She was proud to sacrifice her free time to be with her family.

Mary was born in Detroit, MI to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Bush. After graduating high school she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. She then served four years in the Military Police Corps as a certified traffic scene investigator, and she ran the shot gun and pistol range at Fort Gordon, GA before departing the military as a Captain. It was at Fort Gordon that she met the love of her life, Jim.

In addition to her parents Mary was proceeded in death by her stepmother Josephine Bush.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Monday, October 18th at 2pm, officiated by Sam Meyung. Family and friends may call from 12-2 p.m. at Hoskinson Funeral Home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, OH 43033. A graveside service will be held immediately after at Kirkersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make It Fit Foundation, 7385 North State Route 3, Suite 50, Westerville, OH 43082. Make It Fit is a non-profit organization that assists Ohio children with Autism through therapy, and advocacy.
