Mary A. Nethers

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary A. Nethers, age 82, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will take place in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.

Mary was born February 15, 1939 in Newark, Ohio to the late Albert Leslie and Lula Helen (Richards) Grumm. She passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Mary retired from Titleist Golf where she had been employed for 10 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to car shows (especially Good Guys), Walking at Dawes Arboretum, and taking care of her yard. She also enjoyed hosting family dinners, snowmobiling, shopping, concerts and casino trips with friends. She loved her family very much and her grandchildren and great-grandchild were her life.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim (Steve) Dornon; son, Richard “Dick” (Debby) Nethers; grandchildren, Sara Nethers (Josh Lutz), Katie (Joey) Eversole, and Ashley Sherman; great-granddaughter, Sloane Eversole; in-laws, Floyd (Jackie) Nethers and Carol (Bill) Byers; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Kip.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Nethers, on February 4, 2013; three brothers, William Grumm, Ralph Grumm and Marion Grumm; and a sister, Carol (Joe) Sawyer.
