Mary Josephine Santmire

Mary Josephine Santmire, age 91, of Howard, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at The Inn at Walnut Trail in Sunbury. Mary was born September 11, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Guilio and Michelina (DeFerdinando) Capparuccini.

Mary was a homemaker and had also been employed at Sears for several years.

She is survived by two sons, Rex Santmire of Howard and James Abraham of Marietta; grandchildren, Nick Abraham, Jennifer Abraham, Amy Haler, and Robert Santmire, Sam Abraham, and Joe Abraham; great-grandchildren, Seth, Shawn, Sebastian, Taylen, Drake, and Kendall; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Merle Santmire; a daughter, Madeline Ann Santmire; brothers, James, Rudolph, and Anthony Capparuccini; and four sisters, Lena Spaulding, Sophia D. Hinkle, Jane L. Adams, and Dorothy Capparuccini.

Private inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
