Mary Sue Marks

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary Sue (Hupp) Marks, age 62, of Athens, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Glenford. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville. Mary was born April 24, 1954 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Paul Fuzzy Hupp and Marcella (Radcliff) Hupp McGrath. She passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at her home. Mary retired from Ohio University in Athens where she had been a cook. She enjoyed gardening, gambling, scrapbooking, dancing, gingerbread men, animals, cats and birdwatching and especially loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three children, Josh Marks of Lancaster, Jeremiah (Tonia) Marks of New Lexington and Tess Marks of Athens; grandchildren, Kati and Sami Marks of Lancaster, Jayla Marks and Taylor Starlin, both of New Lexington; sisters, Charlene (Lynn) Hoover of Frazeysburg and Jackie (William) Hart of Athens; brothers, Paul (Janie) Hupp of Somerset and Bobby (Annette) Hupp of Brownsville; step-father, Walter McGrath of Athens; and several nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
