Marylin Jane Chrisman

A funeral service celebrating the life of Marylin J. Chrisman, 88, of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery, Homer, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville on Saturday, prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Marylin was born in Franklin County, Ohio on January 13, 1935 to the late William Boyer and Hester Julia (Spangler) Samsal. She passed away on March 6, 2023 at Altercare Thornville. Marylin was married to her high school sweetheart until separated by his death in 2020. She had a quick wit, a quirky sense of humor and a love for entertaining. She played the piano and organ and was an award winning baker. She was tough as nails and drove a school bus for years over snow covered back roads without hesitation. She always showed up for her family, no matter what the situation. She also worked in the medical field with a doctor in Utica. Marylin was a member of "The Rose Club", a group of high school friends that stayed in touch on a monthly basis after high school graduation. > She never missed a ball game that her children were involved in and frequently carried a first aid kit in her purse in case one of her kids was hurt. She was her children's biggest cheerleader and was ready to wipe the tears away after a loss or help celebrate a win. She loved animals and sitting on her porch swing laughing and making memories with her family. Survived by her children, Michael Chrisman, Mitzie Chrisman, Suezanne (Ronald) Chrisman, Anthony (Courtney) Chrisman; grandchildren, Danielle (Russ) LaFave, Andrew (Erica) Sergent, Chloe, Elizabeth, Jackson, Aleyia, Beau and Remi; great grandchildren, Ryane Sergent, Sierra (Braeden) Boothe, Gracie Sergent, Daniel (Madison) Thomas, RJ Lafave; great -great grandchildren, Rozie, Bryan, Avery and Tanner; along with several nieces and nephews; many lifelong friends; beloved cat, Ally; grand dog, Maggie and nephew dog, Floyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Chrisman; daughter, Kimberly Sergent; son-in-law, Frank Turner; sister, Helen; baby brother, William; and her faithful canine companion, Angel. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Licking County Humane Society in her name. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Marylin and her family.
