Maxine Elizabeth Hamm

A funeral service celebrating the life of Maxine Elizabeth Hamm, age 96, of Heath, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Katrick officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, August 26, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Maxine was born January 22, 1920 in Canton, Ohio to the late Frank and Martha (Best) Bennett. She passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Chapel Grove in Heath.Maxine was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, jigsaw puzzles and caring for her family.She is survived by five sons, Larry (Sandra) Hamm of Newark, James A. (Sherron) Hamm and Joe Richard Hamm, all of Heath, Thomas (Susan) Hamm of Dublin and Jeffrey Hamm of Columbus; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hamm in 2009; and by a half brother, Neal Seacrist; and a sister, Ardel OLeary.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ or the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Maxine and her family.
