Maxine L. Scott

A graveside service, celebrating the life of Maxine L. Scott, 88, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Newark Memorial Gardens, with Celebrant Clifford Mason officiating. Maxine was born in Jacobsburg, Ohio on January 6, 1936 to the late James William and Garnot Elizabeth (Doty) Hall. She passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on October 17, 2024. Prior to retirement, Maxine was a saleswoman at Sears for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, especially during the fall, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include her children, Nancy (Frank) Gostrue, Trina Annarino, Teresa (Randy) Fraunfelter and Lori (Scott) Shepherd; sister-in-law, Deanna Hall; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary E. Scott; sons, Donald Scott and Gary “Dink” Scott; sisters, Nancy Hall and Joanne Laughery; and brother, Brian Hall. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Maxine to the Salvation Army Shelter, 250 E. Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055.
