Melissa Louise Dalton

Melissa Louise Dalton, age 44, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Melissa was born February 1, 1977 in Newark, Ohio to the late Richard and Mary (Haynes) O’Brien.

Melissa was a homemaker and enjoyed coloring and listening to music. She was known to be quite a chatterbox.

She is survived by a daughter, Courtney Arnold (Louis Lee) of Utica; Brandon Smyers (Kate Wills) of Newark; grandchildren, Grayson, Branson, Rex, Charlie, and Hayley; brothers, Shawn (Nicole) Haynes, Nate Haynes and Mikey (Sherylynn) Haynes, all of Newark; sister, Brittney (Michael) Simpson of Newark and Kelly Cheadle of Utica; five nieces; one nephew; boyfriend, Edward Van Fossen; future mother-in-law, Veronica Orris; dear friend of 21 years, Ronald McMullen; and Morgan Garven (Chelsey Darst) of Jacksontown who was like a son to Melissa.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
