Funeral services, celebrating the life of Michael Brunty, 59, of Pataskala, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Rocky Brown as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg. Michael died peacefully, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his home with his wife and children at his side. He was born December 17, 1954 in Columbus, the son of the late Kenneth and Sylvia (Deskins) Brunty. Michael selflessly served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended Groveport Madison H.S., and owned Reynoldsburg Gas Leak and Plumbing repair for many years, after which he owned and operated Scarlet and Gray Lawncare . He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved talking to others, never met a stranger and was fondly known as late nite Mike. He is survived by his loving family: wife Barbara (Hill) Brunty, whom he married on March 27, 1976, son Michael (Cortni) Brunty of Baltimore, daughter Lorie (Eric) Brockman of Pataskala, grandchildren Alee, Brooklyn, Haedan, Baylee and Brody, sisters Patricia (Bobby Joe) McClelland and Kathy (Kenny) Knight; brother Gary Brunty, many beloved friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Butch and Donnie Brunty. Friends may call on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E.
