Michael Allen Chandler

A funeral service celebrating the life of Michael Allen Chandler, age 64, of Pickerington, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. David Chandler, Jr. officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Hermon Cemetery, 21852 OH-550 in Amesville, Ohio.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Michael was born April 18, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio to Loretta Elaine Chandler and the late Paul Holmes. He passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 following a brief illness.

Mike was raised in the loving home of the late Ralph Franklin and Loretta (Chandler) Franklin. He was blessed to have had two fathers who loved him dearly.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Shala (Male) Chandler, and his amazingly talented son, Allen M. Chandler, who he loved to brag about. Also surviving are his brothers, Ralph “Louie” Franklin, Jr. and Bryan Franklin, both of Newark; Paul Holmes, Jr. and Von (Dawonna) Davis of Columbus; sister, Robin (Eric) Mosley of Columbus; and two special brothers, Paul Driskell and Anthony Ray Tiburzio. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his nieces and nephews, Cameron Franklin, Melena Nixon, Anthony Franklin, LaRissa Goslin, Darius Hernandez, Jordan Long, Reed Franklin, Devin Franklin, Evan Adams, Victoria Davis, Cameron Davis, Cody Male, Caitlyn Male, Taylor (Ryan) Capps, Alexis (Brad) Keen, Jake Male, Samantha Male, Audriana Male, and Andrew Male, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Uncle Mike was loved by all.

In addition, Michael is wildly loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He had a close relationship with his Aunt Bunny and Aunt Vicky, and his cousins, Sonja, Dittio, Randy, Larry, and Tony.

Michael loved his family as much as he loved his music, food, and cars. He was someone who never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcomed.

He will be deeply missed, but he is in a better place surrounded by loved ones. Heaven truly gained a Golden Angel.
