Michael Thomas Collins

Michael Thomas Collins, age 64, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home. He was born August 29, 1956 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Alvey B. Collins, Sr. and the late Kathleen P. (Phelps) Collins.

Mike had worked in the oil fields and did masonry work for many years. He was a member of the American Kennel Club and raised and hunted with Beagles with his brothers. He was an avid game cock fighter and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by four children, Robert Collins of Dalton, Georgia, Mikie (Christi) Collins of Cleveland, Tennessee, April Fulton of Utica, and Melissa Collins of Heath; grandchildren, Amanda Collins, Cody (Shae) Collins, Katelyn Fulton, Jarod Fulton, Josie Fulton, Kendall Fulton, Lauren (Jacob) Pennington and Layla Crawmer; great- granddaughter, Rylan Weatherly; brothers, Alvey B. (Judy) Collins, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Bruce (Shirleen) Collins of Frazeysburg; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Chuck Blankenship of Newark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Bernard Collins, on August 8, 2020; and by two brothers, Robert L. Collins and John O. Collins, Sr.

The family will observe a private visitation.
