Michael Shane Davis

Graveside Funeral Services for Michael Shane Davis, 55, of Thornville, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown, with Pastor Bob Beyer as celebrant. Michael passed away early Monday morning, January 11, 2021 following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born May 24, 1965 in Zanesville, the son of the late Gerald William and Barbara Jean (Jones) Davis. He was a 1984 graduate of Lakewood H.S. Hebron, and was an active member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church.  He retired after working for Columbus Steel Castings for many years.

Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing. A real people person, Michael enjoyed interacting with people and truly loved life. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Marilyn (Wilson) Davis, whom he married on August 26, 1988, his daughter Deeanndra; sisters Shelba Hayes, Roxanne (Bob) Wagner, Tonya (Jimmy)Stotts; father-in-law Clarence Wilson, In-laws David (Veronica) Wilson, Shirley (Jeff) Spellman; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his siblings: Ferrell Davis, Gerald Davis Jr., Nedra Staffey, Betty Gibson.

The family prefers that contributions be directed to assist in deferring the final expenses. A GoFundMe account has been established.
