Michael Eugene Kiger

Michael Eugene “Mike” Kiger, age 72, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Michael was born November 25, 1950 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late David and Betty Jean (McAttee) Kiger.

Mike retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 38 years of service. An outdoorsman, Mike loved boating, swimming, fishing, and camping. He especially enjoyed camping trips he and his wife took to North and South Dakota, Montana, Maine, and Florida. Mike was very proud of his business, M & D’s Small Engine Repair.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Louise “Dottie” (Miracle) Kiger, whom he married May 1, 1970; son, Kristopher Michael Kiger of Utica; daughter, Tracy Louise (Mike) Agan of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Shelbi Louise (Joe), Kristian, and Bradley; one great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Marti Miracle and Phyllis Ann King, both of Newark; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lee Kiger; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Miracle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society or to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
