Michael David Killen

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Michael David Killen, 56, of Hebron, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, March 27, 2023 in the chapel of The Hebron home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at the funeral home, 108 N 7 ^th Street in Hebron.

Michael passed away Thursday evening, March 23, 2023 in Columbus following a long illness. He was born November 7, 1966 in Logan, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert Lee Killen and Joetta Lee (Kirk) Killen who survives him.

A 1985 graduate of Chapmanville (W.V.) High School, and was a truck driver for DHL delivery service until his retirement nearly a decade ago to ill health. He was a kind and caring man, interested in the needs of others, always thinking about them before himself. He was an active member of Hebron New Life United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. He served as a volunteer fireman for several years in Chapmanville, W.V.

He is survived by his loving family: his loving wife Kathy, whom he married on October 17, 1992, his daughter Samantha (Austin) Clouse, his mother Joetta (Kirk) Killen, his mother-in-law Dolly Ooten, his sister Julie (Tim) Maynard, niece Laura (Dustin) Chappell and nephew Timothy Maynard; along with his good friend and brother and sister in law Arvel (Amy) Ooten and his beloved canine companion Gunner.

He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to Hebron New Life United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 459, Hebron, Ohio 43025.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home on Monday.
