Michael R. Davis

A memorial service celebrating the life of Michael R. Davis, age 69, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Shawn Morris officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the memorial service on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.Michael was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 21, 1947 to the late Herbert J. and Mary (Perkins) Davis. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on January 6, 2017.Prior to retirement, Michael was a restaurant manager. He was a member of Neal Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Michael was most passionate about the Ohio State Buckeyes. As a tribute, the family has asked that everyone wear Ohio State Buckeye clothing. Michael had a great sense of humor and would say, Anyone wearing maize and blue, will not be admitted into the memorial service.Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Suzi (Congleton) Davis, whom he married October 14, 1987; daughters, Terri Lynn (Bill) Littleton, Christine Louise (Toby) Hageman and Mary Kay Avila; sister, Eileen (Gil) Ullom and Amy Davis Auten; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Michael to Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive SW, Heath, Ohio 43056.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Michael and the Davis family.
